Polymath & Boffin is pleased to announce the commencement of a significant development at Norfolk House, marking a key milestone in the continued expansion of the Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester city centre.

Norfolk House, a 54,000 sq ft freehold office building dating from the late 1990s, is located opposite the Grade II-listed Stock Exchange Hotel. The approved scheme will convert the property into a 95-key hotel extension, increasing the overall room capacity from the 40 bedrooms with which the hotel originally opened in 2019.

Planning permits for the conversion were issued in December 2025, covering the full target development scenario. Construction works commenced on Monday, 23 March 2026, with completion currently scheduled for April 2027.

The completed development will operate under Marriott’s Autograph Collection Hotels brand, forming part of the Bonvoy portfolio. The scheme is intended to integrate with the existing hotel and expand its offering within Manchester’s city-centre hospitality market.

Midway Construction has been appointed as the construction manager, with Relentless Developments as the development manager.

Polymath & Boffin is acting as investment banking advisor and general partner for the capital on the development.
